Practicing a Healthy Pace in a Hurried World
I fear we were never meant to live at the pace of life we are currently living. God designed our hearts, souls, and minds to settle into a beautiful rhythm. That rhythm looking nothing like the one we are living today. We were designed to rest. To stop long enough to hear his voice. I understand the agendas, the patterns the pull and tug of our everyday life, but could it be that we are missing the most valuable reset for our souls?
true rest.
Psalm 46:10 says to “be still and know that I am God.” Many of us know and believe that our God is in fact who He says He is, but we are neglecting the first invitation of that verse. To be still. I would go so far as to say this is God’s voice saying that in order to really understand my nature you need to still your heart, your life, your pace. Because His nature is gentle and lowly at heart. He wants to bless you with rest and stillness in this fast pace world because we were never meant to function at such a pace where we aren’t slowing down long enough to feel.
When we become still, we can feel.
Let today be an invitation for you to slow down just long enough to let your heart feel what it is your needing in your life. Are you anxious? Tired? Angry or bitter? We often times can’t fix our hearts if we don’t know what’s causing the tension in the first place. So, wherever this finds you, my challenge for you is to find a time to be still in His presence for a moment today. Let Him meet you where you are, reshape your emotions to knowing that in Him, He is all that we need. Let His presence give you strength and rest to move forward in your week. And know that there is so much healing in taking time to slow down, listen, and feel.
