Making space for real joy this holiday season.
I’ve been thinking about you more during these past few weeks than ever before. As I’ve taken some time to quiet some of the noise in my life, I’ve realized how much stuff was in my head, my heart, my soul that honestly just didn’t need to be there. And it wasn’t until I asked the Lord to remove some of the things that would move me further from Him that I really saw how limited the space was in my heart for more of His presence.
So I took a break from the things that caused distraction or anxiousness and replaced them with more of Him. Just more truth, more worship, more slowing down and seeing His goodness in the midst of an ordinary day. And while I did that, I thought of you. If you could ask yourself today this question “how much room am I making for Him?” what would your answer be?
Even though this can be one of the busiest seasons of life, our hearts and souls and minds don’t have to reflect that. We can look and feel and really be restful, joyful, peaceful. If we simply prepare Him room this season in our hearts. Make space for Him to remove the things that crowd and distract and discourage and allow Him to fill you with great joy which He promises in Luke 2. Full of the peace that comes only from Him so that you can really live – abundantly free this Christmas season.
“Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.”
