I feel like I can speak for most everyone right now and say that we all feel like we could say a million things and the next moment feel like there are no words to justify what we are experiencing in our world today. I’ve felt so heavy hearted and completely free all in the same breath. I’ve battled fear and experienced total surrender all in the same moment. 

COVID-19  has spread across the world and with it, has brought not just a virus, but universal panic, fear, isolation, and depression. There is conflict, separation, violence, death, destruction, hate, racism, murder, and pure evil that is spreading through every city and country, heart and home. I will not by any means with what I say try to make light of what is going on – wether you want to make light of it or blow it further out of proportion, you and I have no power over this world. For everything that happens on this earth, under this earth, in heaven, in the past, present, and future, is all filtered through the hands of Jesus.

Hear me out. None of this is shocking to Him. This was allowed and this has great purpose – one we may not ever know this side of heaven, but great purpose all the more. I think its time we put Him in His rightful place of King of Kings. He is not surprised by the world’s coming apart. 

I am telling you this: the more you dwell in the news and statistics and the darkness of this world, the less He will become in your heart and your eyes and your being, therefore leading to self righteousness and destruction in your home and heart. Harsh as it may sound, it’s not about you. Stop filling your mind and your eyes with bad news, darkness, and fear. Instead, fill it with the word of God, the truth of today and tomorrow, the absolute bread of life, for then, you will not only be satisfied in rest and security and total surrender, but you will surely thrive with abundant life. 

Do you not see it? For we are not a people who are called to casually just live our lives and fight our own battles and rejoice when life is good and pray when life is bad. This is the time to come alive. When the world is full of chaos and depression and diseases and fear and evil, this is when we rise up and take our stand as children of God, filled with the same power that raised Jesus from the grave! Do not cripple that power with the ways of the world!! I’m begging you to turn your eyes and ears away from this darkness and deception. Take a moment to stop. Right where you are. Look at your heart, your mind. What have your thoughts consisted of the last 24 hours? Have they brought you any peace of mind? Or has it been racing with unknown and anxiousness. Surrender it. Let Him in again. He will meet you where you are. This time we are in is not about who’s right or wrong or who wears a mask or doesn’t or who is black or white or how many people have COVID or how many deaths there are or aren’t. All so real, yes. again, I am not making light of this. But what I am doing is putting into perspective where our minds need to desperately shift. It is all about praising the name of the one who still sits on the throne. Who will soon be coming again and who already has the victory. 

Fight the devil today. Your quiet time looks a little too quiet. Speak boldly against the devil’s schemes.

Please come to Him today ready to surrender all to him. And by all, I mean truly everything your battling right now. I’m not saying its wrong to watch the news, but for goodness sakes, if the only news your consuming is bad news, then why do you think your so anxious? Did you know theres such thing as good news? There really is. Let me give you an example: 

United States:

-population: 330,917,584 (million)

-total COVID cases: 3,236,130 

-total deaths: 134,572

-less than 1% of Americans have caught COVID-19

-current survival rate: 99.96% of the U.S. population

People’s response to a statistic like this would be something along the lines of “your statistic shows the death rate is minimal therefore your making light of the whole situation and people dying.” 

Hear this please. Just because there is still hope, and good news, and positive statistics, does not and will not ever diminish death. But there are also people sitting at home who are suffering from isolation and depression because all they see is bad news and death and hopelessness. I will not hide my light under the shade of negative media or bad news. We are here to bring the hope of Jesus. Friends, God still reigns above all – above COVID. God is still on His throne. It’s okay to be encouraged with positive statistics. I promise, its really okay. 

You see, we all have a choice, you and I. We can choose to either drown ourselves in negative media and the darkness of what’s going on around us, or we can choose to saturate our spirits with the truth. It’s simple really. Life or death. We can continue to live our lives. Stop waiting around until things get back to “normal.” WAKE UP and LIVE!! My God did not die for me so that I can sit around and be crippled with the fear of COVID or the unknown. NO! He has equipped me for such a time as this! 

You and I? We have a choice to make. Let’s choose wisely. Wake up. Come alive. Breath again. Go, free of fear, into the abundant life of total surrender.
